Indy Video: Ellison returns to Assembly after brush with death

Assemblyman John Ellison (R-Elko) returned to the Legislature on Monday after a brush with death and a week of recuperation.

Ellison was hospitalized on Feb. 12 after a chain of events that started with flooding in Elko, led to cut power and ended with carbon monoxide from a generator seeping into his home.

His wife pulled him from danger and he was treated at a hospital. He said he’s still feeling the effects on his first day back, but is grateful to be alive.

Ellison thanked his legislative colleagues for the calls and the flowers while he was out, and praised the emergency workers and volunteers who responded to the flooding.
