The Nevada Firearms Coalition, which unsuccessfully tried to block a background checks ballot question last year, sent out a missive Tuesday attacking the effort by supporters to obtain information about an effort to block implementation of the new law.

"Like whiny children who didn’t get their way, the left is causing chaos with their underhanded attempts to smear state agencies," Don Turner wrote in a blast email to supporters.

Turner was responding to a story broken by The Nevada Independent about the background check supporters making Freedom of Information requests of state officials, including Attorney General Adam Laxalt, a vocal foe of the initiative who opined it is unenforceable.

"When nothing substantial is found in their investigation, gun-grabbers will try again," Turner wrote in his pitch for contributions from recipients.
