Buy size:  The ad began running on Oct. 2, but the NRCC did not disclose the size of the buy or in which markets the ad is running.

The gist: Calling Horsford “Shady Steven Horsford,” the ad centers on a Las Vegas Review-Journal article from 2012 that details several incidents where Horsford failed to pay debts, including defaulting on car and home loans and being “repeatedly sued to force him to pay.” According to the article, most of those incidents, barring one from 2011, occurred between 1998 and 2002 when Horsford was in his 20s, and he has since settled the liens and legal disputes in question through payments of about $20,000.

The ad goes on to criticize Horsford’s stance on taxes, especially the position on sales taxes and business payroll taxes he took during his time as majority leader in the state Senate.
